Retail Value: $10-12,000

Description

A limited edition suite of 9 monoprints by renowned artist Jorge Pardo shows off his distinctive palette of sherbet like colors in a botanical study of the ubiquitous California  eucalyptus tree. Produced in 1997 by LA institution, LACE gallery, the small edition of 15 is owned by the likes of MOMA, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the NY Public Library, the Lannan Foundation, and is in a number of prestigious private collections.

Cuban born, Pardo first made his mark in Los Angeles as he cultivated a body of work that questioned the boundaries of art, design and architecture. He has reimagined and created everything from familiar objects and furnishings to architecture. In 1998 the artist built his own house in North East Los Angeles as part of an exhibition for LA MOCA blurring the lines between art and function. He’s never looked back since; designing and building houses, furnishings and public spaces all in his signature style that incorporates modernist ideals with regional influences. The awarded artist currently spends most of his time in Merida Mexico after having renovated a defunct factory, creating a paradise of gardens and colorful structures that embody his life and work.

’Eucalyptus’ is a window into the world of this prolific creator. The 9 prints can be hung in any order or configuration allowing for an adaptive installation.
