The astounding ‘Esfera’ swivel chair is truly a product of the 1970s with its space-age spherical fiberglass structure and cowhide upholstered seat and back cushions. The unlikely materials at the time of production such as polyester resin and fiberglass, steel and iron, mixing them with leather were a part of new language of design. Fasenello’s pieces were influenced by pop culture but are marked by a formal sophistication that transcends time.
