Pallucco Italia ‘Fortuny’ Ornament Floor Lamp

The original concept for the Fortuny Lamp was conceived of in the early 20th century by prolific renaissance man and inventor Mariano Fortuny. The designer worked extensively in theatrical settings and experimented with the capabilities of light as it reflected off of surfaces. Fortuny has been quoted as saying “It is not the quantity, but the quality of light, that makes things visible." 

In 1985 the Fortuny light as we know it now was put into production by Italian lighting manufacturer Pallucco Italia. The large movable shade emits a bright but attractive light that is softened as it reflects off of a large fabric and chrome reflector. Perfect for large spaces that benefit from ambient light;  AND for selfies! 

*This special edition of the light features an intricate patterned exterior shade.
