You’ve arrived at a holiday party and your gracious host has handed you a cocktail and a plate of savory appetizers. They both look amazing but you’re left thinking, “There’s no place to set  my drink down while I snack. Do I drink my entire cocktail quickly so I can free up a hand to eat?” While you’re in the middle of this all too familiar party dilemma a friend approaches to give you a hug/handshake and now you’re in another awkward moment.

This holiday season don’t leave your guests floundering . While you’re putting the finishing touches on those side dishes make sure your guests have sides to kick back and free up their hands. Accent chairs, side chairs and side tables are key to successful entertaining like this pair of accent chairs from Maxalto. We’ve paired together some pieces that we think would beautifully accentuate any contemporary or modern home.

Entertaining a group can be as simple as rolling out the good times with a classic bar cart. A well stocked cart can keep guests out of the kitchen and give you the space you need to ensure dinner comes off without a hitch.

If you haven’t found that perfect bar cart, repurpose a tray shelf or console for the evening. Although not as versatile, they can be just as effective.

Above Right: The Kartell Trays Shelf by Piero Lissoni will contain those inevitable spills and keep them from pooling onto your favorite rug.

Now that your sides are in order, add some hors d'oeuvres and a signature cocktail and you are on your way to an elegant and stress free holiday party.
